These days, the Internet and social media are the main venues for marketers to reach potential customers. Various brands are selling the same product, but which brand would you choose to connect with within the end? The same answer, we will choose the one we trust, the one we believe is not a scam and is credible.
In the past few years, there are more and more research has proved that people tend to change their opinions to match the credible source than the non-credible one (Neal 2017; Chakraborty 2019). Many people consider online reviews and the experience sharing in social media to be more credible sources than other traditional information. Further, two dimensions of brand equity, including brand awareness and brand value, are possible to influence the credibility of online reviews and consumers’ buying intention (Chakraborty 2019). Fort this reason, it becomes crucial for a brand to work on its online reviews, brand awareness, and value to increase its credibility.
Online reviews
Product and service reviews are the source people would like to consider before making a decision. The more they have been informed, the more likely they will pay for a brand. Given that, as a marketer, we can encourage present customers to write reviews and feedback for the product and the brand. A marketer can also provide more information and knowledge about the brand to educate present customers. By way of this, present customers can write down more informed reviews to attract future customers.
Brand awareness and value
There is no doubt that positive reviews can boost brand awareness and value. Besides increasing reviews to make a brand trustworthy, marketers can also hold a brand campaign to boost its awareness and make consumers perceived its value. In social media, creating a buzz by asking questions related to the brand can help people get to know more about the brand. Further, holding brand events such as competitions in social media can also catch consumers’ eyes and improve brand awareness.
The ever-changing online world makes the marketplace more and more competitive. Consumer trust is the only factor to sell a product. Brand reviews, brand awareness, and brand value are the crucial elements to stand out from others and win consumers’ faith.
